Dan Song BA - Psychology

Practicum Student Counsellor

Hi I’m Dan! I’m in the final year of my studies toward a Master of Educational Psychology degree.

I strive to create, and participate in, a space of consent, transparency, acceptance, and curiosity. I am passionate about the diversity of individual experiences and their mental wellbeing. No two individuals are the same and neither are their experiences; I’d love to work toward learning about yours and how they affect your wellbeing.

Learned through my experience in supporting children and adults from diverse backgrounds in various settings, I am a firm believer of advocacy. I am committed to meeting individuals where they are at, understanding their context, and reaching goals that they set for their wellbeing.

Currently studying School and Counseling Psychology through the University of Saskatchewan, I am working toward a degree in Master of Educational Psychology. During our sessions, I may incorporate aspects of narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, person-centered therapy, and existential therapy.

Areas of interest include:

  • Stress

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Relationship issues and difficulties

  • Self-image

  • Emotion regulation

  • Self-harm

  • Suicide

My practicum with Evolve will be from September 2024 till April 2025. I look forward to connecting with you.
