Kim Duret M. Psych, CCPA

Hello! My name is Kim and I proudly live, work, and learn on Treaty 6 territory and the Homeland of the Metis.

As a counsellor, I practice from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, strength-based approach while drawing on a variety of theoretical influences such as narrative therapy, solution focused brief therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness, and positive psychology. I have an extensive background working with children and families on the Autism Spectrum and I especially enjoy supporting parents.

I have a keen interest in Nature-Based Therapy and am working towards certification in Perinatal Mental Health. As a mom, I understand the many facets of parenting and the many emotions and thoughts that come along with this. I am here to support you on this journey.

I enjoy working with children, youth and adults of all age, and I am skilled in the areas of:

  • 2SLGBTQ+

  • Maternal Mental Health

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Behavioural Concerns

  • Developmental Disorders

  • Parents of children with special needs and behavioural concerns

  • Trauma

  • Self-Harm

  • Suicidal Ideation

  • Body Image

  • Stress

  • Life Transitions

Please check with your individual or group plan through your employer to ensure coverage for clinical counselling. While clinical counselling is covered by most insurance providers, some group benefits plans specifically state Social Worker or Registered Psychologist. Please ensure you are checking with your individual plan prior to booking. I am covered by the following benefit plan if your coverage covers CCPA's

  • Canada Life

I am so excited to meet you and walk along side you on your journey to wellness.
