Lana McAleer M. Ed. Registered Psychologist (Provisional)


Welcome! I'm Lana, a registered psychologist (provisional). I am passionate about mental health and wellness. As someone who has experienced their own struggles with anxiety and depression, I am familiar with how challenging it can be when your mental health isn't at its best, and how helpful having support can be. I strive to make my clients feel seen, heard, and understood using a non-judgemental, supporting approach. I strongly believe that the earlier we can learn emotional regulation and coping skills the better we can manage the many stresses of life. This is one one of the many reasons I choose to provide individual counselling to children 6 years and older. I believe it's never too early or too late to learn these skills!

Largely guiding my practice, is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). I also incorporate aspects of solution-focused therapy, person-centred therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy with adolescents and adults, while incorporating aspects of play therapy and art with my work with children. If counselling is something you have been considering for yourself or your children, I am happy to walk alongside in this journey.
